Rhythm, Color & Movement: Seeing the Music an Art Exhibition
Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer of abstract art, said, “Music is the ultimate teacher.” Stuart Davis said jazz was one of the things that made him want to paint. Jackson Pollock’s action painting technique reflected the improvisation, freedom, and rhythm of the jazz music he loved. All genres of music have influenced artists for centuries. The exhibition on view during Jazz Fest is a visual journey that will have your mind and heart singing! We have stunning paintings featuring world-renowned classical pieces, dancers so dynamic they seem to move before your eyes, abstract rhythm that lets you see the color of music, and jazz saxophonists sending sweet tunes to your soul. Your eyes are not the only thing gratified; saxophonist Ellis Wright will fill your ears with smooth jazz during the event!
